Here is the story of our client, Guy...
Thirty years of drinking and living on the street wears you down. You feel helpless and like you can't change your circumstances. When my own daughter said she wanted nothing to do with me unless I got clean, I knew it was time to make a change, although it took months to do something about it. I always hesitated to ask for help, but found the power to do so. Believing I could change led to me walking through the doors of HealthRIGHT 360.
My journey began with entry to a HealthRIGHT 360 residential treatment program earlier this year. The door to residential treatment opened many doors after it. I went from wanting to be sober to wanting even more for myself. At the ICC I went to the Resource Center to find housing and take adult education classes. I then connected with the Mental Health Program to see a therapist and work on managing my anxiety. At the Medical Clinic, I was diagnosed with Hep C. My team helped me realize I deserved better for both myself and my family.
I was an alcoholic, living with Hep C on the streets before I walked through the doors of HealthRIGHT 360. I had severe anxiety that kept me from asking for help. Now I no longer rely on alcohol, am cured of Hep C, attend classes, meet with my therapists, and have an apartment.
Had I never been at HealthRIGHT 360, I never would have heard my daughter tell me how proud she is of me. For the first time in a decade, my daughter wants to talk to me and wants me to know my grandchildren. I know this is just the beginning of my recovery and I know I will always have the support of my team at HealthRIGHT 360 to lean on.
