Success Story
What we do. Texas Homeless Network (THN) is a non-profit membership-based organization providing solutions to end homelessness in Texas communities through education, resources and advocacy.
How We Do It. THN provides support to agencies and communities that are working to end homelessness through two main focus areas, the Texas Balance of State homelessness Continuum of Care (TX BoS CoC), and Statewide Initiatives. The 215 county area that makes up the TX BoS CoC ranges in size from mid-sized cities to rural communities. THN collaborates with these areas on planning and funding for resources to address the various needs of persons experiencing homelessness, tailoring to their unique needs. As part of our Statewide Initiatives, THN hosts a statewide conference on best practices to end homelessness. On average, over 400 homeless service providers, school liaisons, advocates, government officials, and community leaders convene to network and gather resources they can take back to their community. THN also works with partners on the federal and state level to advocate for important funding for programs that provide support and housing services for individuals, youth, and families experiencing homelessness. THN manages the AmeriCorps VISTA project for ending homelessness. VISTA members are placed across the state to assist communities with implementing best practices to end homelessness.
