Success Story

Dale's story has been told in Reader's Digest and on national TV. 

Having lost his family, his job and his will to live to methamphe-tamine use, he jumped off Portland's Ross Island Bridge into the cold Willamette in March, 2000, intending to end his life. Instead, he was rescued by a women's rowing crew, not just any crew, but breast cancer survivors piloting the dragon boat, Pink Phoenix. 

 Dale found friends and supporters in the women of the Pink Phoenix. He found sobriety through treatment at De Paul Treatment Centers. Now, in June 2002, Dale continues to live drug-free and just joined the staff of De Paul as a treatment assistant. Where there's life, there's hope!
