We fund extraordinary expenses that lie outside the realm of hospice care and Medicare, but are critically important to the comfort and peace of mind of dying patients and families. From rent and utilities, to baby diapers, to travel to bid final farewell.
We want to share with you some examples of the much needed relief that your thoughtful and generous donations has provided for less fortunate families who not are only facing financial strain due to loss of income, but obviously insurmountable grief at the impending loss of their loved one.
With the help of your donations we have been able to support many needy hospice patients and their families through our Special Needs Fund this past year. Among the ways that we have been able to assist patients and families through this Fund are: distributing Walmart/grocery shopping cards, paying utility bills, purchasing a large toaster oven, two burner cook-top, small refrigerator/freezer, providing rent assistance, purchasing walkers and lift chairs, purchasing baby diapers, formula, infant oximeters, paying for ground travel to bid farewell to a loved one, purchasing room oil burning heaters, and room air conditioners, purchasing wireless room monitors that enable caregivers to safely step away from the bedside
Each one of these items listed above has a person and a very personal story attached to it. These are a few of the ways that you have helped us provide financial assistance to hospice patients and their families, and truly make the quality of life better for them. The full list of needs we supported in 2018 goes beyond those needs listed above. We want you to know how grateful we are for your financial support in the past and your continued support in the future. All of us at the Foundation thank you for making all of this possible.
