About

Young people facing the complex foster care system need a trusted mentor who can speak and advocate on their behalf in court. We recruit, train, and support volunteers to help ensure each child's story is heard and their needs to thrive in life are met.

Success Story

Janelle is assigned to a 13-year-old Lara, who she regularly takes to the park and library. Recently, Janelle also introduced Lara to a local yogurt spot, which has become a new favorite outing. On one of Janelle’s visits, Lara’s mother asked Janelle to buy eggs for them because they had no money. Janelle bought the eggs and also brought pasta and ramen from her own home; she then contacted the social worker assigned to Lara’s case to report their food insecurity so that they could get help. This is only one of many ways a CASA serves youths and their families and/or caregivers.
