Success Story
SERVING CHILDREN OF OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS.
Camp Agape was founded in 2000 and since that time we have served hundreds of children who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Their losses range from illness, accidents, suicides and even murder. Two years ago Camp Agape expanded our service to include military children who have lost a parent fighting in Iraq and other countries during wartime. We coordinated our efforts with the the HUGSS and Gold Star Family Organization at Fort Hood Army Base in Texas. After our first summer program of serving these children the Director of the GSF, Debbie Busch, wrote the following in a letter to Camp Agape; "We are grateful that you not only made camp fun, but you made it a safe place for our children to be. You were careful with their emotional vulnerability as well as their physical security. We are basking in the joy of all the positive comments from the children who participated in Camp Agape!" As we continue to grow our program, our goal is to further our outreach to support children from any branch of the military and assist these children in their grief process of their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have in America.
