Success Story

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership was created in 2002 with a simple premise: to unite and amplify the voices of America's sportsmen and women in the federal policy arena.

Today, with divided government and partisan politics dominating the headlines, the interests of a single species or geography rarely register on the federal policy radar. Yet, in Washington DC, decisions are being made that impact how we develop millions of acres of public lands, how we protect saltwater resources from innumerable threats, and perhaps most importantly, how we pay for conservation in America. Sportsmen must be part of the discussion, and it is the goal of the TRCP to ensure that sportsmen values are considered in each of these matters.

The TRCP's six areas of focus are Conservation Funding, Energy, Western Public Lands, Agriculture & Private Lands, Marine Fisheries and Water Resources. We bring together our partners to form coalitions, educate sportsmen and policy makers on key conservation priorities, and spur action and drive policy outcomes that benefit fish and wildlife habitat and sportsmen's access. The TRCP and its 40+ partners are working together to preserve the traditions of hunting and fishing by: 1) Increasing public access to quality hunting and fishing opportunities; 2) Seeking increased funding for fish and wildlife conservation programs; and 3) Conserving and enhancing fish and wildlife habitat.

Inspired by the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt, the TRCP is working every day on behalf of America's 37 million sportsmen to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish.
