Organization Information

Pheasants Forever

Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education, and land management policies and programs.

Real Life

In 1982, a group of pheasant hunters saw the connection between upland habitat loss and declining pheasant populations. An organization dedicated to upland wildlife habitat conservation was needed, and Pheasants Forever was formed.

33 years later, Pheasants Forever's impact cannot be ignored:
  • Improved 12+ million acres of critical wildlife habitat, not to mention its benefits of cleaning our waterways and safeguarding our soils
  • Purchased more than 180,000 acres of upland habitat which are now all permanently open to public hunting and recreation
  • Have historically completed more than 489,000 habitat projects and have spent more than $577 million on habitat and educational programs
  • Impacted over 600,000 youth through shooting sports, mentored hunts, youth habitat projects and outdoor education curriculums.

However, more work must be done as our nation's wildlife habitat faces monumental challenges in an ever-changing world. Native prairies have been plowed, cattail sloughs have burned to the ground, and drain tile crisscrosses our landscape. We need your support in order to put an end to the these short-sighted land management practices which are poisoning our waterways, polluting our air, destroying our wildlife habitat, and threatening our upland hunting traditions.

With a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator and an efficiency rating of over 90%, you can be certain that your dollars will be spent where they are needed most - on the ground. Donate TODAY and make a difference FOREVER!
