We are a nondenominational Christian organization that builds homes, families and communities. We concentrate on assisting veterans and the disabled, and allowing seniors to age at home. We believe that safe affordable housing is a matter of conscience.

Success StoryWe share our story this year out of a particularly strong need. With great enthusiasm, our current home is being built for a very deserving family. This home will be handicapped accessible for a family with four children ranging from three to nine years of age; the youngest and oldest having muscular dystrophy. It is with great joy that they will go from the confines of a small trailer into a home where the wheelchair can be used throughout. Presently, it is our understanding that the logistics of a small trailer do not provide moving about in a safe manner. Sadly, the oldest boy recently fell in the bathroom and had to be air-lifted into Atlanta for surgery on his leg when he suffered a serious fracture. Our Habitat work teams have accelerated their efforts in order to move the family into more safe surroundings as quickly as possible.
Our community in North Georgia has over 350 families living at the poverty level. With the help of Local Independent Charities and other funding efforts, we are extending our goals to include construction of two homes next year. This will necessitate calling upon resources that are not currently available.
