Success Story

Lindsay Wildlife Museum's Wild Times Science Summer Camp welcomed 60 kids from a local social service agency to a free summer camp in 2008. The week-long "Amazing Animal Bodies" was a great success, providing a fun and educational experience to underserved kids. Science, nature, art and teamwork blended together to inspire curiosity and environmental stewardship. As one of the campers wrote: "To start off I would like to say thank you for your time and effort that you have put into making this week fun. The staff there is wonderful, the activities and animals were great … [Lindsay Wildlife Museum] is awesome! [I] had a wonderful time as well as my brother and the rest of the center. Keep up the good work. Again thank you for your time ... If I ever see an injured … animal I'll bring it to you!" Lindsay Wildlife Museum hopes to provide free summer camps to underserved camps every summer as part of its mission to connect people with wildlife to inspire responsibility and respect for the world we share.
