Success Story

In February 2021, all three of our current public lands protection bills for the San Gabriel Mountains, Central Coast, and northwest California passed the House of Representatives. These bills were then picked up and combined into a single bill by our new Senate champion, Sen. Alex Padilla, as the Protecting Unique and Beautiful Landscapes by Investing in California (PUBLIC) Lands Act, S. 1459. That bill now awaits a hearing in the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and then hopefully a full vote in the Senate.
