Real Life

Phuong Anh is a bright-eyed 4-year-old with a megawatt smile. Unfortunately, due to a genetic condition, Phuong Anh was born without lower limbs and a left hand. Because her family could not afford to purchase a wheelchair, Phuong Anh had to crawl to get around. But the unpaved streets of Vietnam can be painful to a child's unblemished skin, so Phuong Anh had no choice but to stay indoors or risk constantly bruising her skin.

That is, until she received a new wheelchair through the VNHELP wheelchair distribution project. With financial support for the project from a special donor, Phuong Anh gained her own set of wheels. Now she moves around like never before.

Phuong Anh's story is just one example of the many life-altering changes made possible in 2012 thanks to people just like you. With your support this year, VNHELP connected 600 villagers in Pa Che to a clean water source, built a new school in Kien Giang, co-ordinated 4 new medical missions across Vietnam--and so much more.

But there is still so much more to do before everyone gets a fair chance at success in Vietnam. Will you join us again in 2013 on our mission to break the cycles of poverty in Vietnam?

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your support.
