About

8,000 abused and neglected children in Maryland need safe, permanent homes. Support the work of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) to ensure they get there.

Real Life

Ten year old Angela* and her six siblings were placed in foster care as a result of their mother's battle with substance abuse. After several failed attempts to reunite the children with their mother after she completed substance abuse treatment, the two Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) assigned to Angela and her siblings recommended to the juvenile court judge that the children be adopted. The judge agreed and, after several years in foster care, the seven children were adopted by the two foster families that had been caring for them.Upon the successful resolution of the children's case, Angela thanked her CASA for helping her find a "forever family."
