Real LifeWeeks from her 10th birthday, Nora Kulwicki began suffering from headaches and vomiting.CAT scans revealed a brain tumor.Surgeons at Riley Children's Hospital removed what they could, but could not remove it all, opening the door to more tumor growth.
Three years later, Nora's tumor recurred, but was still inoperably small.Nora's mother refused to simply wait and hope. She found the Gerson Therapy.Nora and her mother came to the Gerson hospital in 1990.She followed the Therapy strictly for 1 1/2 years.
During her therapy, Nora was home schooled. She read voraciously: classics, philosophy, science and math, getting an excellent education.
After her intensive therapy, Nora had another check-up.No tumor remained.Nora's violin playing was also a very good sign, since her brain tumor would have disturbed the fine motor skills needed.
Nora, now 19, is college-bound, Presidential Scholarship in hand, hoping to study alternative medicine.
