We're dedicated to helping children who have been waiting the longest for a family often older kids, minorities, siblings or those with special needs. We find the hardest to place children with loving, adoptive homes where they can thrive.
We'll call her Justine to protect her privacy. She was six and badly burnedover much of her body when Children Awaiting Parents learned of her need fora family. Justine had been removed from her birth parents because of abuseand her case worker had been unable to find a local family to adopt her.
Children Awaiting Parents (CAP) finds families for America'shardest-to-place children by photo listing the kids in The CAP Book, thenational directory of children available for adoption, on www.childrenawaitingparents.org and on adoptuskids.org web sites.
Seven families from six states called about adopting Justine after readingher story in The CAP Book. One of the seven, a family experienced withchildren needing extensive rehabilitative surgery, adopted Justine.
Thanking CAP on behalf of Justine and her agency, the worker said, quote:"It iscritical to have cooperative, national recruitment efforts on behalf of the longest waiting children. Children Awaiting Parents is vital in our outreach efforts for families.""
Children Awaiting Parents is possibly the last chance that many of America's waiting children will have to find forever families. It is an excellent resource for anyone concerned with adoption or the welfare of our country's forgotten children.
